Asteroid has earned a reputation in the manufacturing industry that is synonymous with excellence in quality—100 percent customer satisfaction is integrated into our process. Rigid tolerances are controlled with numerous quality control procedures and state-of-the-art instrumentation. Our geometry gauging system indicates roundness and concentricity of OD and ID down to ± .000005˝. Laser micrometers deliver repeatability and accuracy to ± .00002˝ and an accuracy of ±.00001˝ with single point remastering. These instruments, along with our optical comparators and surface finish profilometers, provide complete SPC capabilities and achieve zero-defect performance. We are also one of the few grinding facilities in the Midwest with the capability of checking cylindricity. Our in-house inspection and measurement department guarantees finished parts meet the required tolerances. Quality control is maximized with our multilevel inspection process, which includes first article, in process inspection, random sampling, and final production lot inspection. All inspections are fully documented, filed with each job, and are available to the customer upon request.
